I received a wonderful message from a woman who visited The Piercing Bible website, read my book, and became well educated about piercings.

She has a medical condition called vulvodynia and when I looked it up, I was quite surprised to find this information:

A recent study found that one in four women experience chronic vulvar pain at some point in their lives, making vulvodynia a very common disorder affecting women and girls of all ages and ethnicities.

The good news is that she made sounds decisions about getting pierced and wrote to me about her highly successful vertical clitoral hood (VCH) piercing:

Hi Elayne,
Though you don't know me, you have really helped me out by inspiring me to get a VCH piercing. Before I found your book and your site, I was somewhat intimidated by piercings (especially of the nether regions). Adding to my concern was the fact that I have a condition known as vulvadynia. This is a fairly rare condition that basically leaves a woman with unexplained vulvar pain, itching, and swelling. It comes and goes in flare ups but is NOT a disease or transmittable. As one may imagine it definitely interferes with a love life at times as well as a womans's perception of her "sexiness". It is pretty hard to feel sexy while sex is not an option and even walking is uncomfortable.

I think that my struggles are what drove me to your website. The concept of a piercing that not only enhances aesthetic, but sexual sensation was EXTREMELY appealing to me. Exploring your website, book and hearing about other women's experiences truly empowered me to get the piercing. For that I owe you much thanks. I am also very happy that you show so many botched piercings. It deterred me from going to a less than stellar piercer.

I also have to give a shout out to Roger Rabb!t who you refer to as a skilled piercer. Since I couldn't get pierced by you, I feel I found the best alternative. The experience at Ancient Adornments in West Hollywood was phenomenal and well worth the drive of many hours. Besides having great manners and professionalism, Roger was efficient and the process was relatively pain-free. Now that I've had my piercing for a week and things are starting to heal I am seeing such great results. The sensation is great and I can't help but feel unique in sexy way now. I think that many women with sexual dysfunctions like mine would greatly benefit from considering a genital piercing such as the VCH.
Thanks again!

Awesome!
