Argh! I'm SO frustrated. I loathe it when women contact me for advice and information, and I supply it to them, and they STILL end up with botched piercings. That's exactly what happened....
I received a message:
I've been doing research on VCH piercings and have tried the Q-tip test but i'm not certain if I'm doing it correctly. The plan is to have it done as a Christmas present to myself but I want to be certain on whether or not I am built properly for this piercing. Attached are the best photos I could capture while trying to do the test. Thank you in advance for any information/suggestions that you may have.

I just got a VCH piercing and I know bleeding is normal and so is swelling but this is my vagina and it's kinda scary to pierce it and not really expect it to swell and bleed, when I was told it shouldn't be that bad, that spotting was normal. But I'm not really spotting it's pretty consistant but it's not a lot. I can't really explain it. I've attached some pictures because like I said before it's kinda scary.
Sorry the pictures arent the most attractive. But I don't feel like it looks right and I've been reading your responses, so I sent them.
I really hope this lady didn't screw up. I'd hate to have to take it out...
Thank you for your time.
It isn't the bleeding that concerns me. This excerpt is from The Piercing Bible:

I received a wonderful message from a woman who visited The Piercing Bible website, read my book, and became well educated about piercings.
She has a medical condition called vulvodynia and when I looked it up, I was quite surprised to find this information:
A recent study found that one in four women experience chronic vulvar pain at some point in their lives, making vulvodynia a very common disorder affecting women and girls of all ages and ethnicities.
The good news is that she made sounds decisions about getting pierced and wrote to me about her highly successful VCH piercing:

I received an interesting email from a woman who is interested in a genital piercing, but had concerns about whether a VHC would affect her preferred style of masturbation:
I wanted to thank you for maintaining your website as a really informative resource on genital piercings.
I want a stimulating piercing and have been told I'm not a triangle candidate but could get a VCH. I like to masturbate by rubbing the shaft of my clitoris through my hood - have your clients reported that it's harder to reach the clit shaft if there's jewelry there?
Thanks so much! D.

Below is an email exchange I had with a woman in the UK who got a botched VCH piercing, and then got it redone properly:
Hi! My name is S., I live in the UK. I looked at your site before getting my VCH, I am happy with my piercing but it dosn't look like any on the VCH I've seen on your site and wondering maybe he's made a mistake? It's still a bit swollen as I've only had it a few days, I hope to hear back from u soon! Thanks! S. =)
You definitely do NOT have a properly placed VCH piercing. You have a piercing located on the side of your clitoral hood. A VCH goes in the center. Further, the jewelry is not touching your clitoris, which is the thing that is potentially stimulating about the VCH piercing. Also the way the jewelry is resting, the piercing is higher on the inside of your hood than it is on the outside. This is not a proper placement and it causes your clitoral hood to be hooked over the top of the jewelry, so you're likely to get migration, scarring, or both. Additionally, you can expect that it will be uncomfortable, or downright painful.
I'd ask for my money back, take the jewelry out, and seek a more qualified piercer to do it for you.

I just got yet another message from a woman who got a totally botched VCH piercing. This was especially upsetting since she had actually been on this website to learn about genital piercings before getting hers done!
I used your site for research about a vch piercing before actually getting it. Unfortunally I got it. I was not happy with how it came out, I dont think the pictures are showing it very well, but i can actually see the barbell through where I got the piercing. I contacted the piercer and he has offered to redo it free of charge. I just wanted your opinion on if I'm completely crazy for thinking it is messed up or if I was correct for taking it out. Also, I took it out two hours ago, but I am feeling discomfort, it isn't exactly pain but it doesnt feel natural. Is there any suggestions you have? I'm doing the sea salt soaks even though I took it out until it heals. Please Help!

I receeived this message from a woman who wanted to know if she could wear gold body jewelry in a Vertical Clitoral Hood (VCH) piercing:
I'm interested in a vch piercing and my question is will a 14k curved bar be appropiate for this type of piercing?

I received yet another message about a botched VCH piercing. The difference was that it was done in a studio where I do refer to a particular piercer! However, the individual I refer to wasn't available so it was done by a different piercer. BEWARE: if I don't list the individual piercer's name on my referrals page, I am NOT providing a referral to them. Some studios have piercers that vary widely in terms of skills and experience. Please be careful!!!
"Hi Elayne, How are you? I'm messaging you because I got a vch piercing about 3 days ago from XXX. The piercer you recommended wasn't in so I let another piercer at the location do it. Now I'm concerned that it wasn't done right (placement) and that she used the wrong type of jewelry. I attached is a pic that I took myself, hopefully you can let me know what's up, and what I need to do if anything. Thanks in advance."
