I received this message from a FaceBook friend:
Stephen says, "Hello Elayne, I know I don't know you personally, however after reading your book.it seems like I do now. im a tattoo artist in ontario canada, and im currently apprenticing to add piercings to my repertoire. however im very pasonate about adding as much knowledge to any field that I persue. and I can honestly say your book covers it all. wow!!! seriously. well done , thank you for taking the time to put this amount of knowledge out there. this book should be standard reading before anyone even thinks of starting a carreer in the body modification industry. the reason for my message Elayne is that I take my job very seriously and care very much about my clients and want to give them my best. I.m always trying to add the best people in the industry to my list of friends as support to show that I'm always learning and helping them with their best interest. I would be very honored if you would add me to your circle of friends. perhaps we'll meet at a convention some day. thanks Elayne, you have really lit a fire under me to be great at this. take care... s.s."

I got a fantastic message on my YouTube account:
I just wanted to thank you for writing The Piercing Bible, it has helped me grow as a piercer and develop a deep love for piercing. I started piercing as a way to get my foot in the door to the tattoo industry but my teacher put her heart and soul into teaching me how to pierce and always talked about you and your book. I have ordered two copies of your book, one for my home and one for the shop I work at. Thank you so much for inspiring so many people and for indirectly helping me find my first and second loves one being piercing and the second my teacher, we are now engaged to be married. thank you
Thanks so much for your message and congratulations to you and your fiance!
That sure gave me a warm fuzzy feeling! I'm thrilled to hear that my book has proved to have such a positive impact on your career and your perspective on piercing. I can't say I ever imagined that my book would ever be responsible (even indirectly) for a romantic connection. I'm so happy that you shared your good news with me.
Send my warmest regards and respect to your mentor/fiance. I wish the two of you a lifetime of happiness together.

Here's my new Public Service Announcement about safe body art:

I just posted about my upcoming piercing visit to Infinite Body Piercing in Philadelphia on a site called Thumbtack (and it was free).
Here it is:
This is what it says about the site:
What is Thumbtack?
Why can you go online right now and buy any product you want but you can't do the same for tutors, handymen, dog walkers, or other local services? Thumbtack is changing that.
Thumbtack isn't like typical local search directories that simply return business listings with ratings and reviews, leaving you no better off than the paper Yellow Pages.
Instead, Thumbtack gives you the ability to vet, contact and book service professionals the moment you find them.
Seems pretty cool!

I received this message from a reader in Malta!
Hi, my name is B. and I'm from Malta, since I've bought your book you have become my idol. I love piercings, something that you don't find very often in Malta due to a bad reputations, originating from piercees who haven't had a good piercing and weren't instructed properly on aftercare, this is because in Malta we do not have any real piercers, the ones we have are tattoo artists who took up piercing just for financial income.
I would really like to be a piercer one day, I've only had an apprenticeship from my girlfriend which is from Germany, right now I'm not able to go abroad to atend any courses or conventions due to financial difficulties as I'm using my salary to buy the necessary needs for a piercing studio.
I would really like to read a book wrote by you targeting piercers rather then piercees.
Kind Regards, B.

I got this message in my YouTube inbox:
Hi Ms Angel. I got a piercing from you a very long time ago when I was 18. Now at age 31 I wouldn't trust anyone to pierce me but you. I have only ever known about you Rings of Desire location because I am from New Orleans. I am currently residing in Houston Texas but I am willing to travel to get a piercing by you. Where are you currently piercing if you still are and do you travel and pierce at different studios? Thank you for your consideration.

I think I'm blushing again over this recent message:
Your book is amazing!! I took it out from the library and read it cover to cover before realizing I NEEDED my own copy. I cried when I opened a signed copy on Christmas Day. The content is thorough and Incredibly well written, and it was inspiring to me, being a young woman trying to break into the industry, to know it was written by a woman who has a lot of history in the Piercing World. I have never met you Elayne, but I know you inspire and amaze many people (including myself) with your hard work, knowledge and dedication.
