I noticed that The Piercing Bible was mentioned in this woman's account of her VCH piercing. I was very glad to read that the piercing turned out well, especially because it had been performed by an apprentice. But I did want to use this moment to clarify that while my book provides a great deal of information, it is not a "how to pierce" book, and simply because a piercer shows that he has it, (or says he's read it) doesn't mean he's qualified to perform any piercings solely as a result of that exposure. Congratulations to both piercer and piercee--it was the piercer's third VCH piercing, and it sounds like he did an excellent job (congrats to his mentor as well!). It was also great to read her positive comments about the studio:
I must say I have been very impressed with how clean and professional The Piercing Lounge is, and I think they understand people are nervous about coming in and getting pierced. They are very friendly and put you at ease. The aftercare instructions are also given to you right after you are pierced, but they are also given to you on a sheet of paper which is good because it was hard to pay attention right after getting pierced.

Well, it was not my photo (this time), but a 3-page spread I wrote about erotic piercing, with photos of some other lovely pierced individuals. You can read a brief write up about it here on the ModBlog website. Run out and get a copy today! It talks about the Prince Albert, Frenum, and Dydoe for men, and explains the erotic possibilites for stimulation from certain iercings. It also goes into a little about VCH piercings as well.

I just ran into a whole page of wonderful mini-reviews at bodyartforms:
Posted on 12/5/2009 So far Im loving this book! Ive learned so many interesting facts that Im rambling off to my family lol I would highly recommend for someone who wants a piercing or just anyone interested in piercings =]
Posted on 11/27/2009 This is a must have book for anyone interested in body piercing, it is probably the best and most comprehensive book you could buy on the subject right now. The book covers a wide range of subjects and includes diagrams. I would have preferred the book to include colour photographs and for me it spent too much time on the basics (but this would be a positive for people new to the subject).
Posted on 10/16/2009 Very comprehensive book. Has lots of info for beginners and also plenty of interesting things for those who have been around awhile. Wish I had this book 10 years ago!

The Piercing Bible was mentioned in this article about buying holiday gifts for people into body piercings. It says:
The Piercing Bible is a very detailed book that covers various body piercings, the history of the piercing, placement options and a variety of other details. It also talks about proper body piercing aftercare and investigates some of the myths surrounding body piercing.
Naturally, if you know someone who is into body piercing and they don't yet have a copy of The Piercing Bible, it is a perfect gift for the holidays, or a birthday, graduation, or any other event. If you buy your copy from the Association of Professional Piercers, you receive a book that I've signed, and 25% of the proceeds go to the organization. Click here for more information.

I'm finishing up the PowerPoint presentation I'm going to be giving in Milan next month at the APTPI (Association of Professional Italian Piercers and Tattooists) conference. It will be a 3-hour class on oro-facial anatomy and piercings, and I'll be covering LOTS of specifics and details. The Conference is for individuals who are already piercers, but apparently some of them need a great deal of basic information, so I'll be supplying it. At the moment it contains 254 slides, but I have to run through it now and see how long it takes to present them. I'm excited, though nervous about the cold weather. It is snowing there right now!

Posted December 9, 2009, 1:56 PM EST: The Piercing Bible, Definitive Guide is excellent source. As an RN, I have worked in our emergency department and I prepare patients for surgery. I educate my patients and colleagues regarding body piercing. I have found Elayne Angel to be my educator. Her extensive knowledge and professionalism have given me the tools to better teach others. I quote from her book, and try to help remove the stigma associated with people who choose to adorn their bodies. I HIGHLY recommend this book to ALL, but also encourage my fellow healthcare professionals to be informed!
