I received a message from a piercee who couldn't figure out why her old, established piercings were acting up:
I have several piercings all different ages some for as many as 10 years or more and not had any problems. Recently they have all began to migrate and reject and I don't understand why. Can you tell me why this would happen all of the sudden and at such volume after years of no problems at all?
Are you experiencing some kind of excessive stress right now? That can cause problems with healed piercings. If not, I'd suggest a visit to a doctor for a thorough check up. After a long history of stability, if your piercings are acting up that could indicate a health problem of some sort. Here is some information on how stress can affect you.
Please keep me posted!
She did just that, and contacted me again about three months later:
I emailed you a while ago regarding my migrating piercings. After some observation and doctor visits it was in fact due to high stress levels as you suspected.

I received a message from a woman who got a VCH piercing but didn't seem to get much information from her piercer (even though she had visited this site).
I did my research on your page and keep reading over again for months before I decided to get one. I finally had it done two days ago and it was just a pinch, no pain afterward... I have the questions. I had a surgical ring (straight) down there.
Will I be able to feel the stimluation after it heals? At this moment,I feel nothing. Hope it is not too shallow...
Will J- curve help more intense? Name the rings that will do that?
Or I will feel it when it comes to aroused?
Is it still too soon to have oral sex after a couple of days?
Is it safe to purchase the 16' or 14' stainless jewelries at any store (such as Claire's) that has different rings and balls?
Thank you for your time and I appreciate your help!
I need to see a few clear close up photos to answer most of your questions. I can't say whether a different size or style of jewelry will help or not without evaluating your build and the placement of the piercing. If it is not properly placed or the jewelry doesn't fit well those will certainly affect whether you will receive any stimulation from it. This page shows and explains what I need to see to evaluate your piercing properly.

I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the past year and also to thank my clients, customers, readers, and supporters!
There are plenty of you out there who sing my praises, suggest my book, and promote my services by encouraging your friends and family to get pierced by me. I appreciate all of your support and will always work hard to earn your trust
Well, 2012 was a busy and super fast year, but really amazing, too. I got to travel to many different cities and meet and pierce so many wonderful people!
Truly I feel like one of the luckiest people in the world to have a job that is so rewarding and fun. I also feel amazingly fortunate to be married to my wonderful husband, to have dear friends, our adorable dogs, and to live in our beautiful home. I'm also grateful to have 2 loving families: my parents and also the family we "inherited" when we moved to the Yucatan. Last but not least, I'm so thankful for having my health, feeling good, and having the energy to do all of the things I want to do!
One highlight was that the TV show "Strange Sex" interviewed me and included me as a piercing expert in their show about erotic piercing!
http://piercingbible.com/blog/2012/03/elayne-angel-appears-tlcs-show-str... and that was really cool!
Another highlight was the release of The Piercing Bible jewelry measuring application, inGauge.

I got this great feedback from a woman who saw my website and made use of one of my piercer referrals:
Elayne! I LOVE this website! After months & months of reading about different genital piercings, no other place has given me such detailed information. From what I have been reading, you know EVERYTHING about genital piercings & I wanted to wait until you came to Detroit to get a piercing but In July I just couldn't wait any longer and went to see a piercer. I live in Shelby Township, MI & I was so excited to see that you referred Tiffany Diamond from Lady Luck located in Waterford, MI.
I went to see Tiffany just to ask about the triangle piercing and maybe gain a little more knowledge, & ended up getting the piercing that same day! Tiffany was very professional and made me feel extremely comfortable. I definately would recommend her to somebody interested in getting a genital piercing. The piercing did not hurt as bad as I thought it would..... The anticipation building up was worse than the actual piercing itself lol Thank you so much!

I received a message from a woman who had a question about certain legalities of piercing:
Hello my name is T and I've been piercing out of my home for the past 4 years and i have a problem. im starting to save money and build a business but someone is trying to bring me down. im currently creating a facebook page for my new business and an employee from a tattoo shop said he reported me to the police for piercing out of my home. ive been doing this for more than 4 years and i looked up on the internet for the state of pennsylvania you dont need a license to tattoo/pierce but hes telling me to get an apprenticeship. do i need that?
I don't know anything about your local laws, but I know a great deal about professional piercing and I must say that it absolutely should take place out of a proper studio and not a home.
You can find out about the personal and environmental criteria set as an industry standard by the Association of Professional Piercers in the application for membership on this page: http://www.safepiercing.org/join-the-app/types-of-memberships/
You must have an autoclave that is spore tested regularly by an outside service, a separate enclosed area for piercing, a seperate steriliztion room, and much more.

I received a message from a woman who went in to get her hood pierced, and came out with her clitoral glans pierced!
Hi I had my vch done 4 days ago with a standard curved barbell but I'm really not sure about the placement, it moves about loads too. Do I just need a smaller bar? Or take it out all together?
That's not a VCH--it is a CLITORAL GLANS piercing. And you should take that long bar out immediately!
If you like the way it feels and decide to keep it, you should get a bar that is half the length of the current one. The one you're wearing is dangerously long and you could end up with a split clitoris if you accidentally caught it.
Please refer to this page to clarify the difference between a VCH and a clitoris piercing.
Would you like me to post the name and studio of the offending piercer so other women don't go to him for genital piercings? If you did not request a clitoris piercing than you have been seriously wronged! If your clitoris were any smaller, it could have really damaged your sexual pleasure.

I received a message from a woman who was concerned about her navel piercing, which is experiencing healing problems:

I'm so excited about the Pain Magazine "Spotlight" on inGauge, my awesome body jewelry measuring mobile app. It is in the December 2012 edition on page 28. You can view it on their site. I just had to share a glimpse of it here.
Pain Magazine Spotlight on the inGauge App
by Scott Hove
In an effort to further enrich the ongoing relationship between piercers, their clients, and jewelry manufacturers, world-renowned author and piercer Elayne Angel has recently developed inGauge—a new mobile application designed specifically to aid members of the pierced community in sizing physical pieces of body jewelry.
