Botched Triangle Piercing of the Day

I received yet another email from a woman who felt her "triangle piercing" wasn't properly placed. She was right:

I received a triangle piercing three days ago. I'm feeling a lot of discomfort. can you "triangle" piercing that is far too lowplease take a look at my piercing. I just want to make sure it was done correctly.

Nope--sorry, it is not even close. It looks to be about an inch south of where it should be. The triangle should be right beneath the clitoral shaft, which goes back and up from your clitoral glans. We can clearly see the head of your clitoral glans peeking out from underneath the "inverted V" of your hood. The piercing would need to be quite near to there... So you have the piercing equivalent of about a mile off from where it should have been placed. There is no likelihood of you receiving the type of stimulation that a properly placed triangle piercing can provide (from the back of the clitoris).

Fortunately, it is unlikely that you will suffer any damage to vital structures from the piercing being so low. It is more of a missed opportunity for enhancement, plus the pain or discomfort and also the expense of going through a piercing that isn't what you wanted, and isn't located where it is supposed to be.

I also marked your images with the approximate location of a triangle.

Her reply:

The piercer's name was Perry. He works at Gold Coast studio in Monterey, CA. I initially went in for a VCH , but was told that I was suited for it. I'm more upset that he suggested the triangle knowing he didn't have experience performing the procedure.

Thank You to Ancient Adornments and Obscurities

I am just about to head home from my piercing trips to Ancient Adornments in West Hollywood, CA, and Obscurities Tattoo and Piercing in Dallas, TX.

I had a truly great time and wondreful visits in both studios. I want to thank my hosts and their staffs for all of their assistance and support. I know it makes a lot of extra work when all of my clients come through, and they worked hard to make sure everything went smootly.

I want to also thank all of the clients who came out to get pierced by me! I hope you're all enjoying your piercings and healing well.

At this point I'm planning to return to Dallas in March, as I had a waiting list of 31 clients I was unable to accommodate with appointments because I was so booked up!

If you would like to be notified when I make travel plans, please sign up for my newsletter by typing your email address into the box on the right column on any page of this site. It is an "opt-in" list, so I can't add you myself.

If you are interested in information on how to book an appointment, check out the information here.

Here are some photos of some of the work I did on the road.

Another Accidental Clitoral Glans Piercing (With Photos) -Triangle Attempt

I received a message and photos from a woman who had concerns (rightly so!) about her new "triangle" piercing done by "the piercer who owns Big Brain here in Omaha, Nebraska":

Botched Triangle Piercing (accidental clitoris piercing!)
Hi,
I recieved a triangle piercing recently. Although it is very pleasing I have been doing alot of reading on your site and you had mentioned that the hood should not be pinned down and that the piercing should be pretty straight well mine is not quite like that. I got it done by a reputable pierrcer who owns Big Brain here in Omaha, Nebraska. I just wanted your opinion on whether you think migration is possible or if I would have some long term problems down the line.

Surface VCH du Jour (With Photo)

Here it is, the surface VCH (Vertical Clitoral Hood) piercing of the day. This is not where the piercing should be placed! In fact, it is off by the piercing equivalent of MILES.

It was done by Tasha at Way of Ink, in Springfield VA. Naturally the piercee was quite upset. My advice was to ask for her money back and abandon the piercing, and to seek a more competent professional if she wants a properly placed piercing.

The photo below shows the "inverted-V" of the hood. The bottom ball should be coming out from under this location so the jewelry rests underneath the hood against the clitoris.

Great Feedback About a Triangle Piercing I Performed (with photo)

I just received a marvelous comment from a woman I pierced recently:

I received a triangle piercing from you when you were piercing at New Flower, and I LOVE it! It's healing well, no problems, and this is my 5th week with it; my love for it is still growing!

I just thought I would drop you a note, and because of your skills, I'm experiencing some INTENSE pleasure from this piercing! I can't thank you enough.

Woman with VCH Piercing Receives Two Triangle Piercings; First Done Incorrectly

I received a message from a woman who had a really bad experience getting a triangle piercing. Then she went to one of the piercers I referred to (Becky Dill of Cold Steel in San Francisco) and had a much better experience!

Mrs. Angel,

Round 1:
Last September, l while in Monterey, CA, I got a Triangle piercing at the local XX XX studio. A reputable establishment with an experienced piercer. I'd spoken to him twice before actually going to get the piercing and I was convinced of his knowledge. Although, an eyebrow was raised when he mentioned use of a captive ring for the piercing. He re-assured me that it's worked on a number of occasions.

On the day I went, I was accompanied by a friend who was getting a VCH. As it was her it was her first genital piercing, she was quite nervous. I'd gotten my VCH pierced several years earlier,  so, I was a lot less apprehensive, calm even. The piercer was informative and talked her through each step of the process. Really nothing of note when it came to her piercing.

As he prepared me for the Triangle  he took his time, a little longer than I expected. A possible reasoning, is that he stated that my skin was possibly too "thin" in that area. During the piercing, I prepared for a similar sensation as that I'd experienced during my VCH piercing, maybe slightly more intense. And initially, that's exactly what I felt. *Deep breathe in, deep breathe out, penetration, of the needle, of course, :) relax* After relaxing, thinking that the piercing was done, I felt a sharp, intense pain that caught me off guard and caused me to jump, as he continued pushing through. I was not at all prepared for that sensation, and being that I jumped, I apologized for my unexpected movement mid-piercing.

Botched Triangle and Nipple Piercings

Here is a message exchange I had with an unfortunate woman from Australia who suffered needlessly (multiple times!) at the hands of an unqualified piercer:

SORRY-THE GREAT PHOTOS THE PIERCEE SENT AND GAVE PERMISSION TO LET ME USE WERE TAKEN DOWN AT THE REQUEST OF THE HER HUSBAND.
