Piercing

I Couldn't Resist

Just Ears

My husband found this image (and I'd be very happy to credit whoever is responsible, if anyone can tell me!) and I just had to post it here.

Enjoy!

Biangle vs. Triangle

The optimal location for the triangle piercing is at the natural base of the hood, as high as it can go and still be underneath the nerve bundle (that's where you are going to get maximum stimulation from the jewelry).

Triangle Piercing (properly placed)
Photo above is of a properly placed triangle piercing with custom-bent circular barbell (so the jewelry rests back against the body, which is great for safety and comfort during healing!).

Foot or Heel Piercing?

I received a question about a very unusual piercing placement:

Can you get a piercing on the heel of your foot????????
S.

My reply:

Piercing behind Achilles tendon

S.
I wouldn't recommend it. And even if you managed to do it, it would be VERY unlikely to be successful. The tissue there is dense and tight with little or no pinchable flesh. Piercings in such areas is very seldom remain for long--the body simply ejects the jewelry.

Importantly, a piercing in such an area would also have a significantly higher risk of infection than traditionally placed body piercings because of its proximity to the floor where dirt and germs are more abundant

I have seen a very rare placement of a piercing actually behind the achilles tendon the ankle (see Photo, courtesy of Jim Ward and PFIQ Magazine.) Suffice it to say, such a piercing has grave risks including potential for loss of function of the limb.

If you want to get pierced, please select a safer area of your body.

Extreme Swelling of Pierced Clitoral Hood After Sex (With Photos)

I had a piercee (not someone I pierced personally) contact me to say she was concerned about her genital piercings due to localized swelling following sexual activities:

VCH and Triangle piercing (with teardrop ring)I know you are super busy, and I totally appreciate you taking some of your time out to read and reply to my issue. I got a VCH on July 2nd and then I got a Triangle done on Sept 10th of this year. I haven't had any problems with the healing process but I have noticed lately when I have somewhat rough sex my hood gets quite swollen (like it kind of balloons up to maybe 2x its size). It gets really sensitive and discomforting and I don't know if its because the Triangle is still healing or is this a side effect of having both piercings? Or a combo of both?

Thank you for everything! You are an awesome woman and I love your book! You rock!

Yet Another (Different) Shallow Hood Piercing (VCH Piercing--with Photo)

I am so sorry to keep bugging you, but I'm very disappointed. After being curioAnother Shallow VCH Piercing (Marked)us as to why I wasn't receiving much clitoral stimulation from my piercing, I did a little more exploring of the area. I do think that this guy placed the bottom of the piercing a bit too far from the apex of my clitoral hood. I know I sound like a scrooge, but I didn't spend my hard earned money on a piercing that's only going to look pretty and not function as it should.

You can imagine how pissed off I am right now. I have attached a picture exposing the underside of my hood. Please give me your opinion. If you concur, I have a couple of questions for you.

Do you think I should abandon the piercing, or would simply changing the jewelry to a j-curve solve the issue? If I abandon the piercing, how long should I wait before getting re-pierced properly? Finally, can you recommend any piercers in California? (Preferably in the southern California or inland empire areas.) Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you so much. Xoxo <3 A.

Hi A.,

Vertical Clitoral Hood (VCH) Piercing More Painful than Usual

I had some lengthy correspondence with a piercee who went to a reputable professional for her Vertical Clitoral Hood (VCH) piercing, but felt it was much more painful than most other women seem to find the procedure and aftermath. I believe it was a reflection of individual sensitivity after learning it was done by a skilled piercer.

NO Nipple Piercing on Minors!

I received a message and I genuinely hope my advice is taken on this one:

Hello! I have a question about female nipple piercing. Will you pierce a 16 year old girl with parental consent and supervision? Please let me know!

Thanks in advance,

T.

T.,

Absolutely not, and neither would any ethical piercer. You and the piercer both could be charged with reckless endangerment of a minor, child abuse, or other crimes. If someone agrees to do it, they're exactly the type of piercer you should run away from.

Nipple piercing with barbell on ADULT femalePLEASE wait until she is 18. Further, her body is likely to still be developing and a piercing that is properly placed now could end up in the wrong spot once her development is done. Nipple piercings are an adult placement, and she must WAIT until she's an adult to get the piercing done!

Sincerely,
Elayne
